What happens when two venerable, well-loved gaming franchises both release their much-anticipated sequels on the same day? A lot of people mysteriously call in sick to work with whatever mid-May illness is going around, for one thing. Both Max Payne and Diablo are considered two of the very best franchises in their respective genres, the former being a third-person shooter and the latter best described as an action role-playing game. They earned their accolades through early innovations that eventually defined a host of games that would follow them. The original Max Payne turned its “bullet time” slow-motion feature from a beautiful gimmick into a strong gameplay device, perfectly walking that video game razor’s edge of believability and invulnerability. Conserving the bullet-time and applying it well became a strategy unto itself. The Diablo series was a product of a particular kind of alchemy as well; it beautifully mixed hack-and-slash fantasy action with a rigorous RPG-style upgrade system. But, what are we talking about all of this for? You know they’re going to be awesome no matter what. So, when you do pick them both up, hit up Game Front for their Max Payne 3 Walkthrough and their Diablo 3 Walkthrough, won’t you? Thanks, and happy hunting.
